Artist's Comments

a little something that i put together some time ago...

three 4 sec shots of the metro museum in NYC put together...one shot is blended red, one blue, and one green...differences between the shots become a solid color, what ever is the same between the shots stays the original color

Oh wow... I saw this as a thumbnail and was curious about the crazy colours and now that I see it? Wow. I really like the concept and the way it was done and as a complete spaz, the colours.
The symettry of the building allows us to focus on the people without being distracted by architecture, try to follow a path. I like it a lot.
Keep up the good work

Wow this is crazy. That is REALLY cool, and very well exicuted. Chellekat was so right about the architecture that I didn't notice it, not to mention it is nearly monochromatic while the people are very saturated. I think its fun to people watch sometimes and this is really interesting because it gives you some idea of their actions. Its also funny to see that some people did turn out and were stationary the whole time. I also thought that the border containing thin lines of the three colors is a nice touch. Thanks for dusting this off and showing us! :P

brilliant idea.. u made a flower garden of people :+fav:

Very creative! Most interesting ... I love the few spots where there's a solid color person. Like the red dude in the upper left. If I wanted to, I could read into all this as representing the "rainbow" of people you'll find in NYC. ;)

Very very inventive. I realy like this shot. I have to try this. Im kinda confused what u did in ps because i have never tryed something like this. But its perfectly put together and realy original. I realy like the color motion streeks or they look like that. Where it looks as though people are moving in colors. Beautiful!

thankyou very kindly...

here are the steps, if you want to try it yourself...

1. open up the three photos as one file (each as a seperate layer) in PS
2. finly line up the photos (an easy way to do this is to vary the opacity % in blending options)
3. once lined up, set the opacity % to 100 for all, then select only the Red channel (under advanced blending in blending options) for one layer.
4. the other layers set to Green and Blue

good luck and have fun

great idea!
i've gotta try this sometime. you could probably take as many shots as you'd like just like this and then pick the three that blend best together.
